Loving These New Songs!!!

I found a new artist from Jasmine Baucham's church, Ross King. His voice is great and his lyrics have such amazing messages! I have purchased a few of his songs for my iPod from iTunes already, and I look forward to buying more. Here are two of my new favorites from his "Soulspeak" and "All the Decorations Too" cd's, Enjoy! :

Ross King "Glorified in Me"

I've been spending a lot more time reading my Bible, and I've just finished reading Exodus, Leviticus and Numbers these past 2 weeks.
Those 3 books are basically about the Israel's journey from Egypt to the Promised Land. This song reminded me so much of them, how many times did God commanded them to do this or that to be blessed, and yet they did the exact opposite! And not just disobey but then complain against God when things went wrong, and God seemed distant to them.
Parts of this song reminded me of them, and then my own walk with the Lord. How He waits patiently for me when I go off on my own ideas or paths, and always has the same unchanging love for me. I thought of the verse:

Jeremiah 31:3b"...Yea, I have loved thee with an everlasting love: therefore with lovingkindness have I drawn thee."

Ross King "Safe Distance"

You brought me out to the desert
I wandered the cactus and sand
You carried a bucket of water in Your hand
You knew my intentions were noble
But I have not read the map for a long, long time
You kept up the pace and You waited
For me to take a look behind
Why did I have to get so dry before I said...

Don't keep a safe distance away
I sure don't need personal space when it comes to You
I'm desperately needing a meeting with You

You give me the room to be stupid
You give me the freedom to run
You show me the easy way and watch me pick the hard one
I am tired of the distance between us
Cause I know that it keeps me from intimacy
Its really a matter of physics
The power of the gravity depends on the proximity and so I say...

Don't keep a safe distance from me
I sure don't need room to be free from the love of my life
I'm desperately needing a meeting with you
